My Mistaken Melody™
Music Submission Terms
Important: Submitting a song is a request for consideration only. It does not guarantee review, playback, feedback, promotion, compensation, or playlist placement.
1. Eligibility and authority
You must be at least 18 years old or be the parent or legal guardian authorized to submit for a minor artist. You represent that all information you provide is accurate.
2. Your rights warranty
You represent and warrant that you own or control every right, license, consent, and permission necessary to submit the recording and authorize the uses described here. This includes the recording, composition, lyrics, performances, samples, beats, voices, and any other included material. These requirements apply regardless of the tools or production methods used to create the song.
3. Limited permission
You grant My Mistaken Melody a nonexclusive, royalty-free, limited permission to privately store, access, reproduce for technical processing, review, and play the submitted recording during a My Mistaken Melody TikTok LIVE. Ownership of your music does not transfer to My Mistaken Melody.
4. File deletion
Every uploaded MP3 and WAV will be automatically deleted from My Mistaken Melody’s active file storage within 24 hours of submission. The music file will not be retained by My Mistaken Melody after deletion. Non-audio records—including submission details, rights certification, consent, timestamps, review status, and playlist history—may be retained for administration, security, and documentation.
5. Public queue
Your artist name, song title, submission time, queue position, and Waiting/Played status may be displayed publicly during the applicable session. Your legal name, email address, audio file, internal notes, and playlist decisions will not appear in the public queue.
6. No guarantee or obligation
My Mistaken Melody may review, play, stop, skip, decline, or remove a submission at its discretion and is not required to respond individually. Queue position is informational and does not guarantee playback.
7. Your responsibility and indemnification
You are responsible for your submission and for any false, unauthorized, infringing, or fraudulent material you provide. To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Jennifer Ray, My Mistaken Melody, and their representatives from claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these terms, your submission, or your lack of required rights.
8. Platform rules
Playback remains subject to TikTok’s features, restrictions, moderation, and terms. My Mistaken Melody cannot guarantee that a platform will permit or continue any playback.
9. Changes and withdrawal
You may request withdrawal through the contact form on the main My Mistaken Melody website before playback. Removal may not be possible after a LIVE use has occurred or after the music file has already been automatically deleted.
